The historical events depicted in the film revolve around the main character, Sadashiv Rao, played by Arjun Kapoor. It is about the time when, in the 18th century, the Maratha empire reached its peak. And how he cunningly outwits Ibrahim Khan Gardi and captures the fort. Instead of killing Ibrahim, he appoints him as a commander in the Maratha army.
Then, the victorious Sadashiv Rao returned to Pune, raising tensions within the Maratha empire. Political secrecies and mysteries in the Maratha empire resulted in betrayal under the leadership of Sadashiv Rao. He ultimately culminated as the Indian (Hindustan) Kings withdrew their forces right in the middle of the Third Battle of Panipat.
